Head Coach

 The Ottawa Gymnastics Centre (OGC) is seeking a Head Coach to champion the development and implementation of the OGC’s athlete and coach development pathways. Using an early introduction, late specialization athlete development model, you will work collaboratively with the Executive Director, the Director of Programs and Operations, the OGC coaching staff and the Integrated Support Team (IST) to ensure the delivery of quality sport experiences that foster enthusiasm for gymnastics while building foundations for sport and life in a fun, safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. 

Guided by OGC’s vision of being the go-to gymnastics organization for sports excellence and innovation in Canadian gymnastics, you will embrace OGC’s values of Quality, Safety, and Integrity and be guided by the principles of long-term athlete development and the True Sport Principles to ensure developmentally appropriate programming for all. As Head Coach, you will lead by example, drawing on your leadership and observation skills to create an environment that enables excellence while promoting critical thinking, learning and problem-solving, 

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in gymnastics, coaching, and leadership, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Head Coach will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Director of Programs and Operations to oversee programming at the OGC.

Recreational Coaching Opportunities

We are actively looking for enthusiastic people to coach, lead, and learn with our experienced staff in our Recreational programs. Provide your interest if you are looking for a great place to work part-time or casual hours.

Applicants must already have knowledge and skills or have a willingness to obtain:

  • NCCP Foundations Trained
  • Gymnastics Ontario Risk Management Program (available online, no charge)
  • First Aid & a clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)

MAG, WAG, Trampoline, & XCEL Coaching Opportunities

We are looking for enthusiastic committed people with competitive gymnastics coaching experience to join our competitive coaching team. Candidates must have the proven ability to work as a team, be passionate about the sport, as well as a proven track record for preparing athletes effectively for competition.

The OGC has experienced tremendous growth since its modest beginnings, and is now the third largest gymnastics club in Ontario. Over 3,000 annual participants, from 6 months old to adulthood, take part in a wide variety of recreational and competitive programs. The OGC employs a highly passionate team to deliver our programs, and operates out of a dedicated 22,000 square foot Gymnastics facility.

The OGC is seeking Full & Part Time Coaches to add to our growing team.

Knowledge and Skills (required and/or willingness to obtain):

  • NCCP Gymnastics Comp 1 (or equivalent Level 2) Certification
  • NCCP Trampoline Level 2 Certification
  • Respect in Sport for Leaders
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)
