Recreational Gymnastics

The recreational gymnastics program is for ages 5 - 17 years and offers a variety of classes including
gymnastics, trampoline and urban gymnastics. All courses are lead by a NCCP certified gymnastics instructor.

Intro Rec

Age: 5-8 years
Class Duration:
1 hour
Pre-Requisite: None
Achievements: Purple & Turquoise Ribbons

This class is for young children new to gymnastics or those moving up from a Kindergym class. Lessons will use fun & games to teach safety, landings, rolling, body shaping, balance, coordination, over-all fitness and becoming confident on all gymnastics events. Gymnasts will learn a lot of new terminology and a lot about their own bodies and what they are capable of! This class will prepare gymnasts to advance into the Junior Rec program and serve as a foundation sport for any other athletic activities your child participates in. Gymnasts will earn their Purple & Turquoise ribbons in this level.

Junior Rec

Age: 5-12 years
Class Duration:
1 hour
Pre-Requisite: Turquoise Ribbon, or new gymnast age 9+
Achievements: Red & Bronze Ribbons

The Junior Rec program will continue to take a fun approach & build on the basics learned in Intro rec as well as some new skills with a focus on correct technique. Gymnasts will be safely challenged when ready in a fun and supportive atmosphere. This class will prepare gymnasts to advance into the Intermediate Rec program and serve as a foundation sport for any other athletic activities your child participates in! Gymnasts will earn their Red & Bronze ribbons in this level.

Intermediate Rec

Age: 6-12 years
Class Duration:
1.5 hours
Pre-Requisite: Bronze Ribbon or reccommendation
Achievements: White & Silver Ribbons

The Intermediate Rec program is for any gymnast who has built a safe and solid foundation in the sport and is ready to be safely challenged. Lessons will begin to incorporate a conditioning & flexibility program designed to challenge, and prepare the body for future skills. Participants will complete this level with a proper handstand, straight cartwheel, backwards roll & more! This class will prepare gymnasts for the Advanced Rec program and serve as a foundation sport for any other athletic activities your child participates in! Athletes will earn their white and silver ribbons in this level.

Advanced Rec

Age: 6-12 years
Class Duration:
2 hours
Pre-Requisite: Silver Ribbon or reccommendation
Achievements: Yellow & Gold Ribbons

The Advanced Rec program is for experienced gymnasts who have mastered the basics and have an appropriate level of fitness for the required skills in this class. Lessons will build on the basic skills and conditioning developed in Intermediate rec. Participants will complete this level with all the skills necessary for JO level 1 routines and serve as a foundation sport for any other athletic activities your child participates in!

Teen Rec

Age: 12-17 years
Class Duration:
2 hours
Pre-Requisite: None

This class provides a relaxed and fun atmosphere for all levels from beginner to former competitive. Lessons are structured around individual needs and goals for each participant and allow some unstructured free time during class. Ideal for friends who want to train together!

JO Minis Girls

Age: 5-7 years
Class Duration:
2.5 hours or 5 hrs/week
Pre-Requisite: Reccommendation only

This class is for young children who show above average strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Lessons will focus on basics, proper form, conditioning, and flexibility. At the end of the Fall and Winter session participants will showcase full or modified level 1 routines for parents. At the end of the Spring Session we will hold a showcase where participants will receive a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbon on each event depending on their score. Family and friends are invited to this event. Depending on individual goals this class will prepare gymnasts for open competitive try-outs, or advancing into JO 1, 2 or 3.

JO Level 1-3

Age: 7-12 years
Class Duration:
2.5 hours or 5 hrs/week
Pre-Requisite: Reccommendation only

Lessons will be a mix of skill combinations/ routine composition, acquiring new skills, and more challenging conditioning. At the end of the Fall and Winter session participants will showcase Level 1, 2 or 3 routines for parents. At the end of the session we will hold a showcase where participants will receive a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbon on each event depending on their score. Family and friends are invited to this event. This class will prepare gymnasts for competitive try-outs if that is their goal. Gymnasts 13+ with the desire and leadership qualities may apply to our coach in training program.
