Urban Gymnastics
Age 7+

The Urban Gym program combines urban styles of free running with techniques derived from gymnastics, martial arts                           and breakdancing! This class will build a safe and solid foundation for all athletes. They will learn
        jumping, rolling, vaulting, flipping, problem solving, and participate in multi-level obstacle courses to introduce
quick thinking, speed and endurance. Our instructor, Dagan Shaw, will be open to each individuals goals and interests                                     and encourage them to develop their own style and flow in a fun and safe environment.

Urban Gym Kids

Age: 7-12 years
Class Length: 1 hour
Prerequisite: None

This session focuses on the foundation techniques of Urban Gym. Students will learn vaulting, climbing, flips and rolls. This session is intended to be repeated by students several times: Your foundations can never be too strong, and advanced modifications are taught for students who have completed basic versions of the moves. 

 

Urban Gym Teens

Age: 10-17 years
Class Length: 1 hour
Prerequisite: None

This session focuses on the foundation techniques of Urban Gym. Students will learn vaulting, climbing, flips and rolls. This session is intended to be repeated by students several times: Your foundations can never be too strong, and advanced modifications are taught for students who have completed basic versions of the moves. 

 

Supplemental Urban Gym 

Age: 7-17 years
Class Length: 1 hour
Prerequisite: Must be enrolled in another UG class

For students who are already enrolled in either standard or advanced classes, the supplemental class offers an opportunity for the student to pick the moves they want to work on, and train with Dagan's supervision and coaching. Because of the self-directed nature of this class, dedication and motivation are essential. It is intended for those students for whom mastering their moves and challenging themselves is their idea of play-time.

 

Advanced Urban Gym 

Age: 10-17 years
Class Length: 1 hour
Prerequisite: Recommendation only

For students who have mastered the material in the standard classes, (this takes somewhere between 2 to 6 sessions, usually, so don't be discouraged if a single pass doesn't result in mastery) the advanced class offers a completely different  session on Advanced techniques. While some attention is still payed to the functional chase moves of Urban Gym, the advanced classes focus mostly on exotic flips and off-axis twists. Practitioners must have completed one session of standard classes, and be able to front flip, and back flip (off a  block or with the aid of a spring board), as well as double-long before enrolling in this class.

 

Adult Urban Gym 

Age: 18+ years
Class Length: 1 hour
Prerequisite: None
